PAUL GEIDEL
Retired FDNY Lieutenant Paul Geidel of Rescue 1. Paul is a combination of compassion, toughness and humbleness. A son could only hope to have a father as proud of him as Paul Geidel was of his son Gary. I worked for months with Paul down in the hole and he was an inspiration to me. It was his sense of humor that carried him through the really tough days; Always looking at the lighter side of life and staying positive. To watch him go through months of digging and never once complain made me take a second look at my own life and laugh at issues that I originally thought were problems.
